Fo : Fetching

Yesterday I was all alone for the whole afternoon and evening, I made myself a little treat: watch Bee Movie from Dreamwork ! That was so fun I did love it a lot, and later on the evening The last samurai played on TV and I also enjoyed it. I used to saw it when it first came out in cinema, but I did not remember a lot and yes I cried at end like the first time! Finally being alone sometime is good! Hehe, sorry darling but I prefer to watch these instead of a hockey game when they lose 3-0 (Montreal Canadians vs Colombus Blue Jackets).

I also managed to keep my hand busy as well; I made a quick and fun pair of Fetching (knitty.com , summer 2006) for a belated birthday gift for the GF of my brother: Marie-Ève. It took me about 4h30 to made them both and I’m happy with the way they turned out.

Spec of them:

Yarn : Michell & CIA Luxury Collection Fine Merino Superwash DK

Needles : 4mm

Notes : next time I will made the thumb longer and also 2 more repeat on the top because I think they are a bit short on hand.

Umm, also I begun Anemoi Mitten from Eunny Yang… but look how the trimmed turn out… it’s way too small !!! I will rip it and redo it with larger needles. But they are very fun to knit as least…

Drop Blouse back in force !

I finally get back to my Drop Blouse from Garn Studio, it was left all alone since many week because I had to pick stiches for the bottom part and I wasn't able to arrive at the good number so yesterday morning I kick myself to do it witout further delay. I'm really proud of myself now because it look really nice and since I achieved the "picking part" for the bottom successfully I will not wait for a long time to finish the whole thing...

Then, my Mock croc sock are coming out slowly but really nice too, they will be higher than my previous socks. I can see a big progression yet since my first socks back in last october, see by yourself :

January work : Mock croc sock by Knitpicks.com

January work : Little Sky sock from "New pathways for sock knitters book one"

I cast them on today they are for my nephew/niece to be born in the year. I'll talk about my new book in another post this month... but as you can say The number 1 sock made out of it looks really great and I will do his pal tonight or tomorow for sure and later on when we will now if it's a boy or a girl I'll add some cute ribbons on it !

October work : Sweatpea from knitty.com

It has been my first attempt on knitting sock and it went really well, also first time working in the round for this project. A lot of first timer techniques all coming really nicely together in a pair of sock. I wear it a lot since then and I will definetly use the same yarn again (ONline supersocke)

Talking of success, yesterday I watch a very good Disney movie : Meet the Robinson. Wow, I wasn't expecting to be that kind of movie ! The story is telling us to "Keep moving forward" and to even celebrate failure because we have learn from it. This thinking is inspired by the founder of Disney himselk : Walt Disney which have been a great man and one of death celeb person I would have meet if time travel is possible one day... like in this movie.... umm future is close to our doors... Anyway, maybe I'm partial because I love animation movies, but I you have not seen it yet, try it !

Oh, I was almost forgetting !!! I finally got my swap questionnaire for my pal in Be my valentine swap 2008. It is my first swap ever and I am pretty excited now !!! I will go to shop for some stuff right today: candies, chocolate, yarn of course !!! Youpi !!! Maybe you are in the swap and maybe, my pal.... it's a secret.

Buzy week end...

What a good week end ! Hope it never ends when all goes so well :) . First of all, I went to cinema friday night with my boyfriend to see American Gangster with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. I give this movie 4 stars. Good history (inspired by a real life story), superb production and casting, I'll see again when it comes out on DVD.

Then yesterday it was the provincial finale of Rouge & OR university football, that was really cold out there, but we had a great fun too. And without any surprise... R&O won an easy game against Concordia University. A perfect season for a perfect team ! With all this frosting temperature, I've tried out my new teapot stared above and to math it I've also made a Ballband Dishcloth (the pattern is linked here). Nice and easy this pattern takes me about 3 hours of attention between this work and another movie : Ratatouille from Disney and Pixar animation. I totally LOVED it !!!

Umm, BTW, my Monkey sock from Knitty.com is coming quite nicely , I've turned the heel yesterday. I'll post picture of it on the site when it's done with the number 1.

So have a good sunday, and sadly back to work tomorow... hope it could always be week end !
